What is a bespoke seal enquiry?
A bespoke enquiry starts with an application or dimensional requirement that needs to be reviewed individually. Tutor Seal manufactures catalogue and made-to-order sealing components. The starting point may be an engineering drawing, a required profile, a replacement part or a defined operating problem.
A clear specification helps establish what needs to be quoted. A sample or photograph is useful context, but it does not replace a complete dimensional and operating specification.
Prepare your specification
- Drawing or profile sketch, with dimensions, units and tolerances.
- Rod, bore, shaft or groove dimensions, as applicable.
- Medium, temperature, pressure, movement and speed.
- Required material, hardness or existing compound reference, if known.
- Quantity, intended use and any required inspection or approval documents.
- Destination country, requested delivery date and contact details.
What if I do not have a drawing?
Send clear photographs of the part and installation, any identifying markings, and the measurements you can obtain. Explain whether the part is worn or damaged. State what the equipment does and what the seal must retain or exclude. This provides context for discussing what further information is needed.
Are there standard minimum quantities or lead times?
This website does not publish a universal minimum order quantity or lead time for bespoke components. Ask for quantity options, feasibility, price and timing to be confirmed for your specification.
